Dry Chain Lube for Pedro

Pedro's CleanTech Chemistry™ is a proprietary approach to chain lubrication that aims to achieve new standards of performance while using ingredients that are safe for both mechanics and riders. Unlike common chain lubes that feature toxic components, CleanTech Chemistry™ lubes have no compromises, sharing a similar base chemistry but each employing a unique lubricant package designed to optimize the chain surface coating and maximize performance for the intended riding conditions, all while keeping the drivetrain exceptionally clean.

To get the best results from CleanTech Lubes, apply the lube to a clean chain 10 minutes before riding, storing and applying it between 50°F and 100°F. Shake the bottle well before applying, then apply the lube liberally to the rollers of the chain while backpedaling. If applying to a dirty chain, wipe the chain well immediately after the first application, and then apply a second coat. Cycle the chain for 15-20 seconds to distribute the lube, then wait 5-10 minutes. CleanTech lubes use an alcohol carrier that delivers the lubricant package and then quickly evaporates, so for maximum cleanliness, wipe off any remaining excess lube.

While CleanTech lubes may be applied to a dirty chain, they offer maximum performance and cleanliness when first applied to a clean chain. Pedro's suggests using the Chain Pig chain cleaner with Pig Juice or Degreaser 13 to ensure the chain is thoroughly cleaned before applying the lube. CleanTech lubes can be reapplied as needed for many rides before additional cleaning is required.

If the ingredients in CleanTech lubes solidify below 50°F, simply place the bottle in a warm room or in a sunny window to correct this. The lubes can still be ridden well below 50°F and will perform as intended as long as the lube itself is above 50°F when applied.
